No. 10e Fairy Slippers (May 30, 2014)

We are able to find fairy slippers in the moist forest near our house in this season. The orchid bears a solitary white to pink flower marked with purple at the tip of an erect stalk.

They are called gHotei-Orchidh in Japan since the flower looks the smiling face of legend god Hotei.

The flower surely looks the god is smiling opening his mouth.

They are seen in this moist forest covered with thick moss and dead leaves.
