Amarapura

There is a famous bridge made by teak wood that named U-bein bridge . U-bein is a human name. U means honorific title for elder aged man just like a Mr. in English . Bein is real name . U-Bein was mayor in Amarapura city about 200 years ago . At that time Amarapura was a Capital in Myanmar . Amarapura means Die hard town in Pali language .
In Amarapura there is big and prime status monastery that named Mahagandhayon temple . Thousand of a Buddhist monk live and study in monastery .
Buddhism monk and woman cross the U-bein bridge in dry season . In rain season , there is a plenty of a water . Ayeyarwardy river 's water level increase . More than half length of bridge pile sink into the water .Teak is tough material for the structure using in water . This is a traditional knowlege in Myanmar people .
In Mandarey and Amarapura is the place that is many of Buddhism monk .
