"Rollin' EP"

.

(Thailand, 1974)

.

4 tracks: "There Goes My Baby"; "Saturday Night"; "Remember (sha La La Da)"; "Be My Baby".

.

Came in the same sort of sleeve as the orange German "Rollin'" LP here below, but with the song titles printed across the band's picture.

.

Thanks to Hirobumi Ezawa for the info.

.

"Rollin'"

(1974/Germany)
Cat.# 2308 101.

Although the Germans got the 'regular' "Rollin'" as well, for some odd reason or another they also saw an ^orange^ of an opportunity to unleash it in a different sleeve and hence we have this proof of a totally tasteless mid-70s sleeve design (by a 'F.Froeb', no less).

"The Brown Bag Album"

(CBS Records, Canada 1981)
Cat.# PEC 80000.

An interesting pre-marketing exercise by CBS Canada of the Rollers' "Ricochet" album.
This 'Collector's Edition' came in a brown paper bag wrapping and without a title or any sort of credit - apart, of course, from 'Tom', 'Dick', 'Harry' and 'Sam' - but nonetheless contained 'One Outstanding Rock Album'.
Includes the very same song selection and running order as the aforementioned "Ricochet", but the so-called "Brown Bag Album" remains a sought-after collector's item all the same.

  13. Summer Love Sensation
  14. You're A Woman
  15. Shang-A-Lang
  16. You Made Me Believe In Magic

Notes:

Actually not all that rare, but, aptly enough, the last Rollers album to be available as a good old-fashioned vinyl album and the first to be available as a CD (see also 'Compact Discs' section) + there was a cassette as well.
Anyways, for the avid fan/collector, a strange, different and never heard-before nor since vocal mix of "Where Will I Be Now" is included.

    (Faure)
  9. T.V.
    (Faulkner)
  10. Love Theme From "Burning Rubber"
    (Faure/Wood)

Notes:

Never commercially released - since The Rollers were unsigned at the time - this was obtainable though, as a cassette, thru Eric & Co's fan club at various times between 1986 & '96 (further info in Faulkner's section of 'Solo & Side Projects')
"Lay Your Love On The Line" and "Doors, Bars, Metal" appear here in earlier, different version from those which ended up on the "Ricochet" album a year later.
Eric's "T.V." is herein sung by Duncan, while on the "Eric Faulkner Cassette" (again, see 'Solo & Side Projects' - Eric's section) Eric sings lead over the very same backing track.

Thanks to Gigi (and Duncan) for clearing up some of the credits.

Most likely a bootleg.

"What's It All About?"

(7" Interview single, U.S., 1977)

What's It All About? Indeed. One of the weirdest collectables out there. A chopped-down, five-minute interview with BCR on one side, another five of the group Bread on the other. Seems to have been made for public service (religious) broadcast radio, in May 1977. Or, exactly like the label says, produced by TRAV 341 Ponce de Leon Ave. N.E. Atlanta, Ga. 30308 for The Presbyterian Church in the U.S.
Thus, most bizarrely at the very end, "host" Bill Huie puts it all in the proper, spritual prespective
.

"Smith's Chart Busters"

(U.K., circa 1975)

Several 7" flexi disc singles in a pack (a giveaway, I gather) featuring some of the biggest British names of the era (Slade, Gary Glitter, Status Quo, Bay City Rollers)
The Rollers' disc contains "
Bye Bye Baby" on one side, and "All Of Me Loves All Of You" on the other.

"Saturday Night"
/"Mama Li"

(7" Single, EMI/Bell France, 1976)

For some reason, it's the original, 1973, Nobby Clark-sung version of "Saturday Night" which graces this oddity from France.

.

"Honey Money"

Scandinavian 45, 1975, with gloriously misspelled title.

"Shang-A-Lang" / "Summerlove Sensation" / "Bye Bye Baby" / "Let's Go"

New Zealand-only EP, 1975 Bell Records # BEP 201.

"Scotland Scotland"

Scotland World Cup Squad 1974 (LP) - Produced by Martin/Coulter.

Contains a couple of tracks of particular interest:

A totally remixed version of "Remember" (Nobby Clark vers.) w/the Scottish football (soccer) squad on additional vocals and handclaps (sounds a bit like a giant karaoke singalong)

"Easy Easy" (a #20 U.K. hit single in the summer of '74) - by the Scottish Squad, which recycles bits of the "Shang-A-Lang" backing track!

Thanks to Hiro for the scan & the info.
